Parachute Rock Trek - Hocking State Forest
This trek lasts about four hours and traverses several miles of open, mature woodlands past fantastic rock walls, caves and waterfalls. Our professional naturalists take time to interpret the diverse biology, geology and wildlife of the area including insects, salamanders, birds and any number of animal tracks you might come across. our kids will love imagining what it's like to live in the forest, and discovering how the life cycle in the forest relates to busy life. We meet at the Hocking State Forest Rock Climbing and Rappelling area parking lot on Big Pine Rd., drive a short distance from there to a secluded parking location and head into the woods for about 4 hours.

Book a professional naturalist to come to your cabin and lead a hike. Learn about the edibles, geology, biology, wildlife and stream ecology of your own property or rental cabin. This hike is Ideal for groups that just want to enjoy a learning opportunity with the kids or grand kids without moving the group to a state park, metro park or other location. Each event is planned and customized for your group. They typically last from one to three hours with a single presenter or additional presenters Add an artist leading group painting, a living history presenter like Abe Lincoln or live bluegrass musicians.

Both of these Hocking Hills locations are crown jewels Ohio's state nature preserve system. Each boats a goldmine of geology, biology and wildlife diversity. Very few locals have ever even heard let alone visited these locations. On these 4- to 5-hour treks, you'll get to explore amazing, untouched places surrounded by side canyons and rugged terrain. We guarantee you'll be blown away by the beauty of the preserve. Permits are required, group size is limited and visitors need to book several weeks in advance.

Edible Forest Hike - Hocking State Forest
1) Our Hocking State Forest Trek changes with each season as edibles in the forest come and go. We explore woods and stream ecology, biology, geology and wildlife. It's public land and the Hocking State Forest is an amazing place with over 10,000 acres to explore. Let our guide lead you one to two miles through the wilderness to giant waterfalls, rock formations and more natural wonders. Though a bit wet and muddy at times, this is an easy stroll for people of all ages. And while it's an easy hike, we ask that only able-bodied hikers schedule this trek.
